Located in the South Province of New Caledonia, Great ferns provincial park offers a guided night tour during school holidays to observe cagous in their natural rainforest environment. This 2-hour outdoors discovery experience, departing at 6:00 PM, also reveals the daily work of research teams studying cagou behavior in the wild.

Audience: Open to good walkers aged 14 and over.
Required Equipment: Headlamp and sturdy hiking shoes.
Duration: 2 hours (departure at 6:00 PM).
Free activity. Very limited capacity (4 spots per departure). Mandatory booking through the park reception by phone or email.

- Before you reach Parc des Grandes Fougères, you have to drive along 6 kilometres of dirt track. Stick to the speed limit for everyone’s safety.
If it's raining heavily, you are advised to phone ahead to check if the road is passable.
