Description

Dive into the world of H.P. Lovecraft with "Le Sommeil des Abysses" (The Sleep of the Abysses) at the Maritime Museum! Celebrating Cthulhu's centennial, the Sci-Fi Club presents an exhibition dedicated to the legendary Great Old One, featuring artwork, calligraphy, and mystery.
Located at the Maritime Museum in Nouméa, South Province, the exhibition Le sommeil des abysses (The Sleep of the Abyssal Depths) explores the captivating universe of H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary creature, Cthulhu. Presented by the Sci-Fi Club in partnership with the Maritime Museum on Mainland New Caledonia to mark the centenary of Cthulhu's creation in 1926, this cultural experience highlights the American author's fascination with marine worlds, the deep ocean, and the unknown, as well as his major impact on modern pop culture. Visitors can discover striking illustrations by François Launet and calligraphed pages by Guillaume Berbar inspired by the mysterious Necronomicon. The exhibition is located on the ground floor of the museum in Nouméa and is included with standard admission fees.
