Baie des Citrons beach

in Nouméa
0.5 km
  • The Baie des Citrons beach, usually known locally as “BD”, is the most popular spot for Noumeans to catch some seaside rays!

  • “Baie des Citrons” means “Lemon Beach” but you won’t find any lemons growing there. Other than in the name, of course. This sheltered cove is the ideal spot for an afternoon spent sunbathing, reading, and making a short jaunt on the water. The city council has installed pontoons on the water for tired bathers to haul out and catch their breath. You can borrow fins, a mask, and a snorkel, all the better to admire the reefs that edge the beach.
