The historical tour begins at the Musée de la ville de Nouméa, the former Marchand Bank, New Caledonia's first bank, and consists of 23 panels scattered throughout the city.
The panels are translated into French, English and Japanese, so both residents and tourists can discover the history of the city's monuments and historical sites while following a route indicated in the Historical Tour booklet produced by the City Museum. New panels are added to the tour as it goes along.
